wer und was? who and what?

Hallo meine Lieben!
Ich bin 22-jährige Medizinstudentin aus dem Sauerland, lebe zur zeit im Rahmen meines Studiums in Bochum und bereise seit einigen Jahren die Welt mit großer Freude und viel Wissbegier.

Ich versuche, aus jeder Reise, jedem Land, jeder Kultur und jedem Menschen, dem ich begegne, etwas zu lernen. Meine Erfahrung zeigt mir, dass man immer etwas lernen kann, immer etwas mitnehmen und teilen kann und dass internationales Verständnis besonders für unsere globalisierte Welt immer wichtiger wird. Mein Anliegen ist es, meinen kleinen Teil dazu beizutragen, die Welt für einige Menschen ein bisschen lebenswerter zu gestalten, wo sicherlich mein Wunsch herrührte, meine Ausbildung zur Medizinerin zu beginnen, aber auch die Motivation vieler Reisen liegt: gegenseitiges Verständnis ist der erste Schritt des aufeinander Zugehens. Und meistens fängt alles mit einem Lächeln an. Geht also mit mir und tragt euer Lachen in die Welt!

Im Rahmen eines weltwärts-Projekts werde ich ab August diesen Jahres (2017) für ein Jahr in Costa Rica leben, um mich bei CIPAC (Centro de Investigación y Promoción para América Central de Derechos Humanos http://cipacdh.org/cipac_organizacion.php), einer regierungsunabhängigen Menschenrechts- und Gesundheitsorganisation zu engagieren. Damit werde ich die Organisation dabei unterstützen, Rechte und Gesundheit von vor allem wegen ihrer Sexualität diskriminierten Menschen, also der LGBT-Community, sowie die Gleichberechtigung aller Menschen zu fördern. Die Organisation arbeitet auf regionaler und nationaler Ebene und ist aktiv durch Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und Bildungsangebote. Neben Wissensverbreitung und -vermittlung steht auch die Sozialforschung im Fokus. Gerade das Thema der LGBT-Rechte ist in der letzten Zeit durch die positive Abstimmung glücklicherweise überall wieder etwas mehr in den Fokus und die Aufmerksamkeit der Menschen  gerückt und damit hochaktuell.

 

Weltwärts ist ein bildungspolitisches Projekt, welches vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung finanziell gefördert wird, alle Kosten jedoch nicht gedeckt werden können. Um weiterhin Projekte wie diese fördern und durchführen zu können, ist es also wichtig, dass jede/r Freiwillige sich um Spenden für das jeweilige Projekt bemüht. 

Ich selbst bin 22-jährige Medizinstudentin und möchte an dieser Stelle gerne mein Studium hier in Bochum für ein sinnvolles Projekt unterbrechen. Teilweise sicherlich durch das Medizinstudium geprägt, möchte ich gerne meinen kleinen Teil dazu beitragen, dass Gleichberechtigung für Menschen aller Lebenssituationen geschaffen und daran festgehalten werden kann. Besonders Gesundheitsaufklärung und Krankheitsprävention, die für mich ein Menschenrecht darstellen, sind für mich sehr relevant. Gerade für den späteren Beruf eines Mediziners ist die soziale und interkulturelle Interaktion mit verschiedensten Menschen äußerst wichtig, sodass ich mir auch erhoffe, weitere Kompetenzen für meine späteren Tätigkeiten zu erwerben. 

Ich denke, dass Projekte wie diese für die internationale Zusammenarbeit und das internationale und interkulturelle Verständnis und damit die Förderung der Menschenrechte aller einen wichtigen Beitrag leisten können und grade in Zeiten der interkulturellen Spannungen umso stärker unterstützt werden müssen, damit sie auch in Zukunft stattfinden können. Als Studentin kann ich meinen kleinen Beitrag leisten, bin jedoch in dem Projekt auf etwas Mithilfe, nämlich Ihre und Eure Unterstützung angewiesen. Hello my dear friends!
I am a 22-year old medical student from Germany and during the last couple of years trying to travel the world bit by bit. Usually I pursue my journeys with a lot of joy and hunger for knowledge and experience of new cultures and people.

I try to learn from every journey, every country, every culture and every person I encounter. And my experience really proves to me, that there always is and will be something new to learn and to understand and that cultural understanding especially in our globalized world becomes more important than ever before. My hope is to play my little part in making the world a happier place at least for some people, surely part of the reasons why I wanted to start with a medical education and for sure also a motivation for traveling around: understanding always is the first part of getting to know each other, making friends. And usually, everything starts with a smile. So, come and join me with carrying your smile into the world!

As part of the program"weltwaerts" I will live in Costa Rica for one year from august this year (2017) to support the non-governmental organization CIPAC (Centro de Investigación y Promoción para América Central de Derechos Humanos http://cipacdh.org/cipac_organizacion.php). The organizations aim is to promote human rights and health especially for minorities which are discriminated against, of these in particular the LGBT-community, as well as establish equality for all through rising public awareness, educating about human rights and health issues as well as investigating social structures. Especially now after the long-awaited, overdue vote for marriage rights for the LGBT communuty in Germany, this topic is luckily of high relevance again, people are more aware and think about this issue. Being there and working with them I hope to support their projects through my medical perspective.

"Weltwaerts" is a educational, political program which was founded in cooperation with the German Ministry for Economic Relations and Development and is partly financed by this ministry. To make this and similar projects possible now and for future volunteers, it is crucial though, that volunteers like me try to raise some additional funds to add to the project.

As for me, I am a 22 year old medical student from Germany. Being in the middle of my studies, I now want to interrupt my university program for a voluntary service in Costa Rica. I would like to use my so far gained skills and knowledge to help promote human rights and equality as well as educate about health and prevent diseases. As I am a medical student I am of course especially interested in promoting health and preventing diseases, which I even consider to be a human right itself. Deciding on the project, it was important for me to know, that I could make use of my background and actively take part in human rights promotion. Of course, I also hope to gain and improve my skills in human and cultural interaction as I think this is a crucially important part of my future job of being a doctor.

I think, that projects like this one are essential for our society and world. Creating and promoting international and intercultural understanding and relations is the first step of creating equality and securing human rights for everyone in a globalized world. Especially now, as intercultural relations seem to become more difficult each day, I think supporting those projects becomes even more relevant. I hope that through my work I can make a change for at least a few people and I really thank everyone by heart who helps me achieve this goal and play your part in promoting human rights. Thank you!
