WIE SIEHT ES AUS?
Für alle, für die das Frauenkondom völlig neu ist, zunächst einmal eine grobe Beschreibung. Es ist eine Art Gummischlauch, die vor dem Geschlechtsakt in den weiblichen Geschlechtskanal, also die Vagina eingeführt wird und so eine Barriere zwischen Vagina und Penis herstellt. Damit hat es die gleichen Funktionen und Aufgaben wie das bisher herkömmliche Kondom, nämlich die Verhütung ungewollter Schwangerschaften und die Prävention von sexuell übertragbaren Krankheiten wie beispielsweise HIV (Humanes Immunodefizienz Virus).
Das Frauenkondom erscheint zunächst einmal sehr ähnlich zum Männerkondom, zeigt aber doch einige Unterschiede im Aufbau: wie das Männerkondom besitzt es eine obere Öffnung mit einem etwas verstärkten Ring am Abschluss. Anders jedoch ist, dass es einen sehr ähnlichen Ring am anderen, verschlossenen Ende trägt. Dieser zweite Ring dient dazu, dass er sich um den Muttermund, also den Cervix legen kann, um einen besseren Halt zu bieten. Insgesamt ist es etwas weiter im Durchmesser und auch ein Stück länger, damit es sich gut anpassen kann und auch Teile der äußeren Genitale besser bedecken kann und somit einen besseren Schutz gegen Infektionen bietet.
WELCHE VORTEILE BIETET ES / WELCHE EIGENSCHAFTEN HAT ES?
Vorteile können zum Teil sicher sehr subjektiv empfunden werden, weshalb der/die ein oder andere möglicherweise mehr oder weniger Vorteile sieht. Meiner Meinung nach sind folgende Punkte wichtig:
- Für Frauen ist es eine sichere Möglichkeit, ihren Körper zu schützen oder ungewollte Schwangerschaften zu vermeiden. Dadurch kann sie ihr Recht auf Selbstbestimmung besser nutzen
- Das Material ist eine Form von Nitril, es kommen also keine allergischen Reaktionen vor
- Es besteht die Möglichkeit, das Kondom einige Stunden vor dem Geschlechtsverkehr einzusetzen, dadurch wird keine Spontanität zerstört
- Das Kondom ist nicht von einer Erektion des Penis abhängig und ermöglicht damit größere Freiheit in der sexuellen Begegnung
¿QUÉ VENTAJES / QUÉ PROPRIEDADES TIENE EL CONDÓN?Creo que la percepción de ventajas puede ser algo que cada persona percibe de otra manera, tal vez algunxs de ustedes perciben algunos aspectos más o menos favorable que otros. En mi opinión, hay algunos aspectos esenciales que yo percibo como ventajas:
- Para mujeres es una forma segura de proteger sus cuerpos de infecciones de transmisión sexual pero también de un embarazo que no desean. Por eso tienen una herramienta eficaz de gozar su derecho de decisión sobre su cuerpo
- El material es una forma de nitrilo por lo cual no hay riesgo de reacciones alérgicas
- Hay la posibilidad de poner el condón algunas horas antes de la relación sexual por lo tanto no acaba con la espontaneidad de la relación
- El condón no depende de una erección del pene y por eso da más libertad a las relaciones sexuales

Das Frauenkondom dürfte für einige von Euch entweder völlig neu oder zumindest etwas unbekannt sein. Zumindest habe ich das Gefühl, dass in Deutschland einige davon gehört haben, aber sicher die wenigsten schon mal eins gesehen, geschweige denn ausprobiert haben. Vor allem im Vergleich zum doch sehr gut bekannten „normalen“, also dem Männerkondom.
Das Frauenkondom dürfte für einige von Euch entweder völlig neu oder zumindest etwas unbekannt sein. Zumindest habe ich das Gefühl, dass in Deutschland einige davon gehört haben, aber sicher die wenigsten schon mal eins gesehen, geschweige denn ausprobiert haben. Vor allem im Vergleich zum doch sehr gut bekannten „normalen“, also dem Männerkondom.
WIESO SCHREIBE ICH DARÜBER?
Das Frauenkondom und seine Verbreitung hier ist zurzeit eins der größeren Projekte bei CIPAC. Die Hoffnung ist, dass es durch seine Verbreitung zu einer höheren Selbstbestimmung der Frau und zur Verhinderung von ungewollten Teenagerschwangerschaften beitragen kann. Teil meiner Aufgabe ist es natürlich, über alles gut informiert zu sein, was die Organisation macht und verbreitet. Deshalb musste auch ich mich erst einmal näher damit beschäftigen und würde nun gerne teilen, was ich alles weiß, wusste beziehungsweise neu dazu lernen konnte.

The female condom might be totally new or at least a bit unfamiliar for many of you. At least what I can say from my experience in Germany is, that some have heard about it but that very few have seen or used it before. Especially in comparison to the more common “normal” male condom.

WHY DO I
WRITE ABOUT IT?
The female condom and its promotion is one of the two big projects at CIPAC right now. It gives hope, that it can increase the self determination of women in their sexual life and help prevent unintended teenage pregnancies. Part of my responsibility is of course, that I know a lot about all those things, I would like to promote. Therefore, I had to read up more on the topic and would like to share what I knew and now know of the topic, as I think it is very important and helpful piece of information.

WHAT DOES

For all of you who have never seen one or heard about it, first a little bit of description. It is a kind of hose made of rubber which, before the intercourse, is inserted into the female genital tract, the vagina and through that creates a barrier in between vagina and penis. In this it achieves the same function as the well-established male condom as it prevents unintended pregnancies and gives protection against STIs/STDs (sexually transmitted infections/diseases) as the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus).
The female condom shares many characteristics with the male condom but is at the same time – of course – very distinguishable: as the male condom, it has an upper opening terminating with a ring which is a bit stiffer. At the same time, there is a second ring in the lower, closed end. This second ring is necessary to be placed around the cervix to ensure, that the condom stays in place during intercourse. In general, the condoms diameter is a bit greater than of the other to be able to adapt properly to the shape of the vagina. Also, it is a bit longer, so that it can cover parts of the exterior female genital parts to provide more security against infections.

Advantages can be very subjective at times, some of you might be convinced more or less by certain properties. In my opinion there are some crucial points to be considered:
- For women it is a secure form to protect their bodies from sexually transmitted diseases and from a not-desired pregnancy. Therefore, I think, it is a great tool to exercise their right to decide over their body.
- The material is a form of nitrile so that there are no allergic reactions
- There is the possibility to insert the condom a few hours before the intercourse so that it does not inhibit the spontaneity of the relation
- The condom does not need a penile erection and therefore gives more freedom to the sexual relation

El condón femenino puede ser una cosa nueva o casi desconocida para muchos. Al menos eso es que siento en Alemania, que si personas conocen el condón femenino normalmente no saben mucho o al menos nunca han probado eso. Especialmente en contrario del muy conocido condón masculino.

¿PORQUÉ

Escribo sobre el condón femenino porque ahora es uno de los dos proyectos más grande de CIPAC. Hay la esperanza que el condón puede apoyar con el aumento de la autodeterminación de la mujer en su vida sexual. También puede rebajar el número de indeseados embarazos juveniles. Parte de mi responsabilidad – por supuesto – es que conozco mucho sobre los temas de que trata la organización como el condón femenino. Por eso tenía que informarme más y me gustaría compartir que había aprendido sobre el tema y que había conocido antes.

Para todos que no conocen que es el condón femenino, al principio una descripción ordinaria. El condón es un tipo de tubo flexible de goma que, antes del coito, está introducido en la vagina y por eso genera una barrera entre la vagina y el pene. Por eso tiene la misma función como el condón masculino para prevenir los embarazos indeseados y también la prevención de ITS (infecciones de transmisión sexual) como VIH (Virus Inmunodeficiencia Humano).
El condón femenino parece ser muy similar al conocido condón masculino, pero por supuesto tiene algunas diferencias grandes en su construcción: Como el condón masculino tiene una apertura por arriba y por abajo. La apertura por arriba tiene – como el otro – un anillo de goma que es un poco más fuerte. En el otro lado, por abajo, tiene – en contrario del otro – un segundo anillo para colocar alrededor del orificio uterino, el cérvix, para garantizar que no va a cambiar su posición durante el coito. El condón femenino tiene un diámetro un poco más grande que el otro para adaptar mejor a la forma de la vagina. También, el condón es un poco más largo para cubrir partes de los genitales femeninos exterior y por eso también proteger partes de los genitales exteriores de las infecciones.
