Da wir immer noch ein bisschen Freizeit haben, um uns an alles zu gewöhnen, sind wir natürlich den ganzen Tag auf den Beinen und entdecken – laufend und mit dem Bus – die Gegend. Bisher haben mir die Universitäten von San José und Heredia, also die Universität Costa Ricas und die „Universidad nacional“ besonders gut gefallen. Beide sind sehr lebendig, da viele Studenten die umliegenden Parks nutzen und man scheinbar immer wieder spannende Projekte finden kann. Am Mittwoch haben wir zufällig eine mexikanische Band getroffen, die auf dem Campus ein kleines Konzert gegeben hat, am Donnerstag in Heredia haben wir spontan an einem kostenlosen Puppentheaterworkshop teilgenommen.

Ein Puppentheaterworkshop? Ja, wirklich! …Und das auf Spanisch. Tanit, die Spanierin, und ich haben uns also in die Situation katapultiert, vor etwas mehr als zwanzig Personen ein kleines Puppentheaterstück zu inszenieren. Tanit als Frosch, ich als Affe Rosmarie. Auch, wenn das Publikum sicher nicht die Hälfte von dem verstanden hat, was ich gesagt habe und wir die andere Hälfte mit Lachen beschäftigt waren, hatten wir unsagbar viel Spaß.

We still have a bit of leisure time to get used to the new surrounding and culture and are discovering the surrounding walking and by bus. So far, I liked both the university of San José and of Heredia a lot, both are very lively places in which the students spend a lot of time in the parks surrounding the buildings and one seems to be able to find projects of different kinds all the time. This Wednesday we found by accident a band from Mexico playing a small concert for free. This Thursday in the other university we participated in a class for puppet theatre which also was offered to students for free.

A workshop for puppet theatre? Yes, exactly!... and all that of course in Spanish. Tanit, the Spanish girl and I put ourselves in a situation in which we had to play theatre in front of more or less twenty students. Tanit as a frog and I as a monkey called Rosemarie. Even though, the audience probably could not understand half of what I said and Tanit and I had to laugh hard the other half, we enjoyed ourselves endlessly.    

Porque todavía tenemos un poco de ocio, podemos descubrir el entorno un poco más – caminando o en autobús – y por eso estamos a pie todo el día. Hasta ahora me encantan mucho las universidades de San José y Heredia, la Universidad de Costa Rica y la Universidad Nacional. Ambos están llenos de estudiantes que pasan tiempo en los parques y de casualidad hemos encontrado proyectes interesantes. El miércoles conocimos a una banda de música que visitaba a Costa Rica desde México y tocan música en el campus de la UCR. El jueves participamos en un curso gratis del teatro de títeres.

Un teatro de títeres? Sí, de verdad!... Y por supuesto todo eso en español. Tanit, la española, e yo pusimos en una situación en cual necesitamos escenificar una obra de teatro pequeña frente una audiencia de más o menos veinte personas. Tanit como una rana e yo como un mono que se llama Rosemarie. Pienso que la audiencia no pude entender más que la mitad de que dijimos y que por la otra parte estábamos rindiendo. Pero aunque todo el ridículo, era una experiencia muy divertida y especial.
